My 20 Soothing Activities

We all get overwhelmed sometimes. These are my favorite activities to help me to calm down, ground myself
and come back to the present moment. I hope this inspires you.
Body check-up
- Am I thirsty?
- Am I hungry?
- Do I need to take a break?
- Do I need to stretch?
- Do I need to get some fresh air?
- Do I need to text someone or watch some cute videos?
- What do I need? How can I honor my needs right now?
Exercising
- Go outside for a walk, take some deep breaths and slow down.
- Clean my apartment until everything is neat, organized and spacious.
- Organize my emails, my online storage and everything in my office.
- Do a calm and repetitive activity like painting or sewing.
- Pet or play with my dog.
- 5+ min of yoga.
Relaxation
- Unplug any electronics.
- Massage.
- Guided meditation.
Creativity
- Listen to my favorite songs.
- Color, draw, paint or do some dot-to-dot.
- Clear my mind with journaling activities.
- Write a postcard to a new friend on Postcrossing.
Connection
- Tell someone about how I feel via text or phone call.
- Buy a gift for my wife or a friend.
- Send a card to someone I love.
Planning
- Write a step by step list of all my projects.
- Start doing the project that seems the most fun.
- Tell someone that I did it and congratulate myself too!
- Do something that I enjoy to celebrate it!
In the end, I remind myself that taking care of myself is and will always be my absolute priority.
